At Barron Collier Companies (BCC), a great way to foster a deeper understanding of our mission, values and portfolio is through firsthand experiences, and that’s why our Professional Development Committee recently organized a properties tour for our newest team members to learn more about our commercial and residential real estate developments in Naples and the greater Collier County area.
Cee Cee Marinelli, VP of Commercial Real Estate, and Kelly Kennedy, Director of Commercial Leasing, gave more than 30 of our team members a fully narrated tour of several key properties including the master-planned community of Ave Maria, Florida and commercial centers Founders Square and Winchester Center.
“The tour gave Barron Collier Commercial the opportunity to highlight our expertise in professional property management and how this all connects from beginning to end with acquisition, civil engineering, land development to vertical construction, leasing and management of our real estate ventures,” Marinelli said.
Throughout the day, employees also engaged with various departments. Peninsula Engineering CAD Alejandro Rives connected with Brent Smith, Collier Insurance Agency Commercial Lines Account Manager, where the two learned how their teams collaborate to bring projects to life.
“Not only did the tour highlight our company’s impressive portfolio, but it gave me the chance to network with colleagues outside of engineering,” Rives said.
A special touch to the day was a homemade cookout by Barron Collier division, Ave Maria Utility Company. From smoked chicken to delicious desserts, the multi-department luncheon was a way to organically bond.
“It was an afternoon of networking, sharing insights, and, of course, enjoying great food in the company of great people,” said Jason Vogel, AMUC Vice President.
The importance of professional development is not just about growing in your role but building a sense of community within your organization. The properties tour was a beneficial way for new hires to connect with others and gain an in-depth view of how Barron Collier Companies manages its portfolio.
“Whether we are in a partnership on a new ground-up office complex, a joint venture bringing together aligned investment associates or managing our legacy assets, we aim to continue leading the charge on smart real estate development, investment and management,” Marinelli noted.
